During his tenure as a Chemistry student at the University of Hannover, Russell actively engaged in interdisciplinary activities focused on the monitoring and automation of biochemical analytics and production processes through the utilization of information technology.

Following the successful completion of his Ph.D., where his research centered on expert systems for process supervision, Russell transitioned into the field of process and IT consulting. He joined PSI AG in Berlin and swiftly assumed the role of head of the business unit dedicated to the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. His primary focus revolved around optimizing production processes by implementing state-of-the-art MES and planning systems.

Subsequently, Russell joined IDS Scheer Consulting, where he became involved in numerous BPM and IT projects within the chemical industry, particularly emphasizing SAP-oriented initiatives. Notably, he undertook a pivotal project executive position in Saudi Arabia, leading the Design Phase of one of IDS Scheer's most significant BPM/SAP endeavors in its history.

Since 2014, Russell has held the esteemed position of Partner at bpExperts. As a Partner, he has consistently driven BPM and Business Transformation initiatives across various industries, each with unique objectives, including operational excellence, business transformation, process-driven SAP, and governance, risk, and compliance.

Russell has amassed profound industrial insights within the realms of Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, discrete Manufacturing, and Consumer Goods. Additionally, he has been actively involved in initiatives within aviation, utilities, service, and banking sectors.
