The combination of assignments in the industry and the role as a leading consultant, in an international environment, shaped Markus‘ perspective on the consulting business and his strong orientation towards customers‘ needs. Professional expertise in a wide range of business subjects complements his commercial background, project management skills, and entrepreneurial mind set.

Markus developed a profound knowledge of the chemical, pharmaceutical, and consumer goods industries. He is an expert in supply chain management and in business process transformation.

Before co-founding bpExperts GmbH, Markus was Senior Practice Manager at IDS Scheer Consulting. He worked on several international project assignments including a deployment to Saudi Arabia for almost three years.

Prior to this, he was Head eBusiness at Sandoz, the world’s second-largest generic pharmaceutical company globally, and has also worked in various positions at Swarovski, market leader for cut crystals and genuine gemstones. 

Markus holds an MBA from the University of Liverpool.

Dr. Jochen König

Founding Partner

Following years in academic research Jochen moved into the bioinformatics industry supporting pharmaceutical research and development. During 9 years in Switzerland he served as a product expert and trainer with global assignments and later on as group product manager. This experience as well as managing extended collaborations with major pharma corporations offered him intimate insights into the pharmaceutical, red, green and white biotech industries and the respective processes.

Subsequently, Jochen moved on to business process management consulting with his particular interest focused on innovation processes and continual improvement on one side balanced by process oriented risk management and internal control systems.

Before co-founding bpExperts GmbH, Jochen was Deputy Practice Manager at IDS Scheer Consulting supporting Markus in leading the Pharma & Life science practice.

Jochen studied Biology in Würzburg and Edinburgh and holds a doctoral degree in microbiology.

Dr. Russell Gomersall

Partner

Already while studying Chemistry at the University of Hannover Russell engaged in interdisciplinary activities focused on the monitoring and automation of biochemical analytics and production processes by means of information technology.

After completing his Ph.D. with a thesis on expert systems for process supervision he moved to process and IT consulting. He joined PSI AG in Berlin and soon became the head of the business unit for the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. Focus was the optimization of production processes with best of breed MES and planning systems.

Later Russell joined IDS Scheer Consulting and got involved in various BPM and IT projects in the chemical industry with a focus on SAP oriented initiatives. He took over a project executive role in Saudi Arabia to conduct the Design Phase of one of the largest BPM/SAP initiative in IDS Scheer´s history.

Since 2014 Russell is a Partner at bpExperts.

As Partner he constantly has been driving BPM and Business Transformation initiatives in various industries with different objectives: operational excellence, business transformation, process driven SAP and governance, risk and compliance.

He has gained deep industrial insights in Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, discrete Manufacturing and Consumer Goods but has also been involved in aviation, utilities, service and banking initiatives.
